Robotic bag palletising
Robot cells that stack bags and sacks of powders, grains and granulated products onto pallets, designed, built and installed for manufacturers across Australia.
Built for bags
Bags shift, sag and settle in a way cartons don't. A bag palletiser is set up to flatten and square each bag so the pallet comes out tight and stable.
- Bag flattener or conformer to spread the product evenly before picking
- Bag turning and spacing on the infeed so each layer forms cleanly
- Fork, clamp or vacuum bag gripper matched to your bag type and weight
- Interlocked stacking patterns that lock the load together
- Connection to your bagger, check weigher and metal detector rejects
- Pallet and slip-sheet dispensing, plus outfeed to a stretch wrapper
- Guarding, interlocked gates and light curtains to AS/NZS 4024
What we palletise
From small retail packs to heavy sacks, the robot and gripper are sized to your bag weight and rate.
Stockfeed and pet food
Pellets, grains and kibble in paper, woven or plastic bags.
Fertiliser and chemicals
Granules and powders, with dust-tolerant equipment where it's needed.
Flour, grain, rice and sugar
Food-grade bags handled cleanly and stacked square.
Cement and building products
Heavy bags of cement, sand, render and grout.
Common questions
Can a robot replace manual bag stacking?
Yes. Hand-stacking heavy bags is one of the most common manual handling risks in a plant, and it is one of the jobs robots do best. The robot keeps up with your bagger shift after shift, and your people move to other work.
What bag weights can a robot handle?
Palletising robots handle anything from small retail packs to heavy sacks. We size the robot payload to the bag weight plus the gripper, with room to pick more than one bag at a time where your rate needs it.
Which gripper is best for bags?
Fork grippers suit most paper and woven bags because they support the whole bag. Clamp grippers suit heavier or slippery bags, and vacuum grippers can work for some sealed plastic bags. We pick the gripper after looking at your bags.
Will the pallets be stable?
Yes. Each bag is flattened before it is picked, and the layers are interlocked so the load holds together. Slip sheets and stretch wrapping can be added at the end of the cell.
Can one cell handle different bag sizes?
Yes. Patterns are set up on the operator screen for each product, so a size change is a recipe change rather than a reprogram.
Can it connect to our existing bagger?
Yes. We connect to the bagging machine, check weigher and reject systems you already have, and can program on the PLC platform your site uses.
